A Quiet Night

Have you ever noticed how quiet night can be after everyone goes to bed? It's the calm before the storm of morning. This new house of ours is soooo quiet here in the country. No cars screeching through the intersection, no rowdy drunk kids coming home from the bar! Some nights when Justin is at work I think ghosts are in the house because of all the little sounds like the fridge water filling up, the furnace turning on, the dishwasher running, the creaking walls, the wind blowing the backyard gates ( that one always makes me think someone is in the back yard). All the noises, that in a year I will have drowned out and they will seem normal, now keep me awake at night listening to every little sound! Oh the joys and blessings of a new home!
